Ok, I'll go! I'm sick of this arctic cold ass weather and no time, money, or garage to work in!
Oh, and every time someone has something for sale that I need, I have no money and someone else buys it. I'm finished now.

I'm sick of pulling lug nuts off of my car that are 12x1.25 when the thread pattern is 12x1.5. Have to replace every stud on the front hubs before I drive it again. That also has to do with the fact I can't do anything in this cold...

Only getting $100 back this year on taxes. Man, that blows.

That's good. That means you claimed the correct number when you filled out your tax information.

All these people thinking tax season is a Christmas present are doing it wrong. You're just tying YOUR money up for a year to let Unle Sam spend it as he wants until you can rightfully claim it. I just budget correctly and save money through the year and you'll be better off. Taxes aren't a savings plan. (Obviously there are some legit reasons for a big refund.)

I get pretty bummed watching beginners without the money (or skill) taking of big builds that are totally unjustified. Sitting out season after season building their "drift" car. If you can barely afford tires, you don't need a turbo. You don't need a tube front in your first drift car. You don't need parts A, B, and C to go drifting. Keep it simple. Have fun and rack up seat time. Know your budget and live within it.

I agree with that^^, but on the other hand Im tired of all the shitty looking cars in KC.
Don't get me wrong, functionality needs to always be top priority and if all you can afford to do is keep it running and tires then keep doing that, dont strain your budget.

But, I personally have never liked driving something that looks like shit and i don't think people realize how simple it is to make a car look good. Every "cool" drift/street car has these three things, and #4 is optional but highly recommended.

1. coils
2. wheels
3. paint, this one you can just rattle can it, itll look good even if its shitty paint, just have it one color
4. aero

Just those 3-4 things and you have a car that will be dope as long you did it right. Every other cities scene Ive gone to has at least 10 cars with all these things, while KC has like 3-4, really just bums me out. Obviously some cant do all 4 things at once, but thats fine stop buying shitty shit and piecing a makeshift car together, just save up and buy good stuff and be proud of your car. Its a part of you and it shows what kind of person you are.

Prime example of the use of #'s 1/2/and 3 to make a GOOD looking car that was low budget but Galen took the time to make it look good.

I just want more people to have a rad looking cars and drive the shit out of them.

I've told people forever satin krylon is the way to go on the cheap.
You prep well, and spray paint. It's ~$40 And takes maybe 2-3 hours. Have done it on many cars.
Fencepost side skirts require slightly more work.

See Rolando's post. The green 240 had maybe $2500 in it including the car over the course of 2 years, stock sohc, stock clutch, vlsd ( go welded, viscous diffs suck ) After awhile I was running on stock shocks and cut front springs when I broke a coilover.
It was bare bones. And drifted great.

I would hate an infinite build. I couldn't stand to not drive my car for any period of time.
I have like $6k into my miata in 2 years. Almost turbo, But I drive it all the time, very little downtime.
Most people lose motivation and sell the car before it ever makes it onto a track. so someone else gets a partial build, and it starts over.

Best advice for getting into drifting now? Think outside the 240, they are slowly becoming like the ae86, rare and hard to find decently priced.
Most are junk, or people want way too much money for stock/broken/rusted to pieces.

3-5 series bmw, miata, volvo 240 or 740, mustang, even some trucks.
Most of them make about the same power, or more ( a lot more. ) fairly reliable, and cheaper.
Do research, buy something different. Let's make KCD weird.

I'm really surprised there aren't more 3 series drift sluts around. It's gotten fairly common to see these at the same price or cheaper than a 240 and they're 5 to 10 years newer!

People are fucking annoying. It's getting scary at how dumb people are. I hate how self obsessed people are. I hate most of the people in drift scene their mainly in it just to be cool not for the fun.

WOW....You've obviously never experienced real drifting.

Its not about the cars, drifting is a family.
Thats something that KC lacks, ontop of the lack of good looking cars.

But I get it, 240s are kewl......

We have a good group, just a not as close knit as some.
We need a schedule for events like BBQ and stuff, so people can clear schedules.

I really wish we could do something like a cars and coffee, or kinod.
But people don't want to drive out every month, or week.

I haven't been able to make it to an event yet. But there is a reason I still hang around, most of you guys are pretty cool. I have only met a handful but everyone I met was super legit.
