someday it will be blue, but the black does look good, kinda looks mean. If you think about it all the notorious cars in movies and tv are black. deathproof, batmobile, knight rider, a team, the charger at the end of the 1st fast and furious, mad max's interceptor, green hornets chrysler imperial. well you get the point.

Blue is always the optimal colour choice, but black is most certainly second. You are correct though, there is a definite aggressiveness to it now that was lacking in its previous multi-coloured glory.

okay, so over the next couple months I'm going to pull my sr apart and rebuild with "quality parts". A few problems started to surface. first was expected, clutch. who would have guessed that the xtd clutch off ebay was a piece of shit. as for the real problems, it started to smoke from both ends. some in the exhaust and some coming out of the air filter, (through the T on the valve cove). okay so bad crank case venitlation, valves, seals, rings, who knows exactly and I don't care. I'm going to replace it all and build it better and stronger. cams, crank, pistons it's all getting replaced. any who, any time and money saving advice is welcome and no swapping to a v8 is not an option. just for a point of reference the engine itself is essentially stock. my goal with this is to get in the neighborhood of 500+ hp. is that really needed No but I want to anyway.

thanks.

You need an insane budget for 500hp out of an SR.... Go KA.

An RB25 would be a better better.
Or a toyota 1j/2j would make that kind of power on a stock bottom end, and it is attached to a much stronger trans.

Time is more of an issue than money, I make enough but conequently id have one day a week to work on it. I really dont want to abandone my sr, if I dont use it I sell it and ill take a big loss on it. The rb idea is worth considering. I dont know.

Oddly enough I do miss my ka

And so the build goes on, Unfortunately it's going to have to sit for a while until I move to a place with a more suitable garage. Then I will start tearing it apart, replacing rings, bearings gaskets and whatever else I find. who know's I might replace it all from the cam to the pan. at least this will give me a chance to paint the engine bay, it's been bugging the shit out of me.

okay, really nothing new. still waiting to move so I'll have a garage to work on things. the plan so far is to just do a basic rebuild, my 500 horse aspirations have past. rationally thinking whats the need. however my exterior plans have change a bit. if my plans work out I'm going to pick up a silvia front and build a sileighty. and my color choice has changed as well, I'm set on synergy green now. I should be getting a good check soon so as soon as I can get moved to a place with a garage this build will be under way.

As of now I'm still waiting on a garage. I've been stock piling parts, I've got about everything I need. I got new rings and complete gasket kit, some tein coils, an ACT 6 puck clutch. energy suspension bushing kit, a B&M short shifter, a greddy bov, a mishimoto intercooler, a aluminum coolant resevoir, some BC cams, a silvia front end. there's more but oh well. I do still need a few more things. I want to pick up some new injectors, and a slim battery. mines relocated to the trunk and I think the alternator has trouble charging it. so it's always dying so I'm just going to put a slim one up front. well whenever I actually get to putting this together I'll take pictures and what not. I'm also going to have a bunch of stuff to sell.

also to anyone who has rebuilt an sr and knows what they're talking about, if you have any suggestions on things to upgrade or be sure to replace let me know. This will be the first time I've rebuilt an engine. I'm capable but I might overlook something that would be good to do while I'm at it.

thanks

Fuel system management or factory service manual, I guess both would be helpful. Do they have a manual in English, cause I've yet to find one.
