this is really my first build, my first real acomplishment for my self. I've done plenty for others, just nothing for myself so this car is special to me and the fact that I've wanted to build a 240 for about 11 years. things finally worked out.

1990 240sx, I bought it in april for 600. it had a blown motor but otherwise the car was in great shape. so right away I got started pulling that engine. my biggest problem with this car and In life in general is patience. I know, as you'll see in the pictures I should have cleaned and painted the engine bay. and various other things. but like anything it's never done. so I'll make a list of parts and things done, then I'll post up some pictures. I was a Marine so I'm told I have no feelings so your criticisms will not bother me however I'm open to future sugestions and constructive criticism. thanks for looking.

I think that's it for now, If i forgot anything I'll put it up later. now for pictures.

I just finished putting it together, so paint is next on the list. House of colours has a nice cobalt blue, and I appreciate your indirect compliments

I enjoy your car/build don't get me wrong, I was merely saying it will look good once painted!

I clicked the link, I read the link, then I posted the link, I see no need to read it again. I prefer the non-US spelling of the word, I apologize if you find that offensive.

colour = hipster spelling.
David: Most importantly, I'm glad you got the SR running. Sean really wasn't worried about the multiple "colours". Like he said, it will look great once painted and we know that isn't a priority. Great job on a great build. I know you had some hiccups along the way with the driveshaft, waiting for parts, etc.
Nice bumper btw, I'm glad it got put to use!
Thanks again for all the help you've given me. The clutch solved the clunking problem I have been having. Springs fell out of the old one when removing the pressure plate.

I just thought of something. Cobalt blue would look good with some gold on the car. I was thinking Navy colors since you've already chosen the cobalt blue.

I completely agree, one color will be great, I know it looks like shit right now, just not sure which color to go with, blue or green. either way. thanks, everyone seems to like those tail lights. or I could leave the shitty paint hodge podge and have it a sleeper 240, I don't know. oh and sorry for my choice in wording, nothing anyone has said have I been offended by.

Ive been waiting for a name to come to me and with comments here and there about build cars not being daily's and the fact that mine is. And since it has an sr, I shall call it senior daily. So any who. I picked up a compression line a friend made me so I could mate my p/s line off the sr to the sohc line on the car, so happy day, power steering in my daily. Soon going to be breaking out my pipe Bender and mig and fabricating a harness bar. As well ill be pulling off my water pump to clean and reseal it. (it leaks).

oh, your daily is getting powersteering back (maintenance) and a water pump seal busted (more maintenance) --- lets not forget our neato seatbelts (safety) :D

Safety is important

You should get a new water pump, it's like $50, I had mine blow up about a year and half ago and it made my s14 miss the my first kcda event, but I still went with the 350z. anyways, yeah get a new water pump!

Yes, my sr BUILD, had dohc PS lines and it went into a sohc so I had to fabricate lines to make them compatible, (not maintence), and the pump leaks from sitting in a warehouse for a year drying out the gasket seal. (not really reg. Maintenence). And the harness, because I have a family and safety matters. Point is, I built it. Therefore its a build. And I drive it daily. Im not taliking about maintenence, im talking about my build of a track worthy car thats able to be an enjoyable daily. Ive already owned a striped down track car (build). as much daily driving as I do that gets old.

And yes, I agree, about replacing the whole pump.

Well it's finally one color. got my water pump and circuit sports alternator today, I'll get those in today or tomorrow. next I'm going to pull all the arms and tie rods off my parts car, sand blast em, reinforce em and paint em. then order a complete bushings set and replace it all. then on the list is some new or newer coils. my jics are worn out. upgrade my brakes. then some injectors and cams and all that goes with that. At that point I'll spend the money to have it professionally painted the cobalt blue that I want.

Image

Stay tuned for more maintenance

Don't get ES bushings for all the suspension, only non moving parts, you don't want stiction and binding in your suspension, especially for a daily. Stick with stocks until you want to go spherical or delrin.
