I got a 95 s14 and im gunna be doin a 5 spd swap soon. I have a s13 tranny im gunna use. I bhave read stuff that i can use this tranny and i have read that i cant cause it doesnt have the spot to put a certain sensor. So my question is am i alright with this tranny or do i need one out of a s14?

What are sensors?
In my s13, my trans had nothing plugged into it since my gauges didn't work.

And I think you would just need to swap the s14 equivalent sensor onto the s13 trans if you did want everything to work.

I'm sure there are plenty of people on here that have done the swap and can give you a better answer than I, but from what I remember it just requires a little wiring magic to work.

Pretty sure the S14 does have an extra sensor though. Might have to deal with a CEL.

Im not worried about a cel. The difference from what i read is a spot to plug a sensor in on the 14 tranny and the 13 doesnt have it. I could try nd drill out a a spot through the nell housing to pujt it in but i rather not.

It's a crank position sensor and I've heard of people going without it, but I'm not smart enough to tell you what it does. I would assume you can just swap the bell housing though.

240sx obd1 and obd2 get their crank angle readings from the distrubator. The second cas is not needed, at all and should not throw a code.

Case in point, Dustin (Krazy) used my S13 transmission in an S14.
